W elcome to Popeye's Poopdeck! If you came across this website by accident it may save you a little time knowing that unless you have an interest in Popeye the Sailor you may as well move on because that's all you're going to find here. This entire site is devoted to "The Thimble Theatre" comic strip, its creator, Elzie Crisler Segar and many of the characters it contains, especially its star. If you're a fan of Popeye and have actively searched for this site or came by way of a link from another site, thank you very much and thanks to those who supplied the link! We hope you won't be disappointed but if you are please let us know.

Much of the information you'll see on this site may already be familiar to you. But a concerted effort has been made to bring little known facts and images to light, things that haven't been seen before in every book, essay and magazine article ever written about the subject. It is our hope that this site will also become a collaborative effort by anyone and everyone with something to share. Eventually, with your help, we'd like this site to develop into a repository, a resource tool for serious researchers as well for as casual visitors. So if you have anything you'd like to share, we'd like to see it and if we post it you WILL get full credit for it on this website.

T his is an ongoing project and will be expanded and updated regularly, or at least as time and energy allow and new information is uncovered.
